Article 9. Security of electronic funds transfers.
The transaction procedures on the Ornibird merchant site take place with the highly secure payment service provider Hipay or Paypal.
As payment security experts, Hipay and Paypal ensure that sensitive data is transmitted and stored according to the highest security and quality standards.
1. The customer connects to the Ornibird website, selects items he places in his "shopping cart" and expresses his willingness to place the order.
2. The customer, after his registration between his delivery and billing details. The total amount of the order including all taxes and the shipping costs are indicated.

4. The customer is redirected transparently to the Hipay or Paypal website, where he enters his payment parameters (payment method, home banking, credit card number, ...)
5. Payment shall be made to the financial institution concerned.
6. The customer receives the result of the transaction which he can print and keep as proof.
7. Ornibird performs automated post-sale processing and sends the parcel to the customer.
When it is time to enter payment settings, the customer is automatically redirected to the Hipay or Paypal site. The exchange of sensitive information - such as the credit card number - is therefore done between the customer and the site of Hipay or Paypal; Ornibird has no knowledge of it. Not only does this mechanism preserve the confidentiality of information with respect to Ornibird, it also allows for the incorporation of new payment methods without requiring any modification to the programming of the merchant's site.
In addition, all transaction fees (fees of the various financial institutions) are entirely paid by Ornibird.
At the end of the payment process, the hand is returned to the merchant's site so that he can perform the "after-sale" processing of his choice (stock update, possibility to download intangible goods, etc.).
This system therefore offers all the advantages for payments on the Ornibird merchant site:
- Confidential information is protected using SSL or SET technologies. No information of this type therefore passes in clear on the network.
- Ensure the confidentiality of payment data (including credit card numbers).
- The merchant or applications on the merchant's site are not aware of the buyer's credit card number.
- Any communication between the client browser and Hipay or Paypal is done using 128 bit SSL encryption techniques. It is not possible for the client to use a browser that does not support this encryption technique. Hipay and Paypal are protected by different firewall systems and protocol conversions to prohibit access to data or payment processors by unauthorized visitors.
